Improved coaching by improving the coach
|
|
As coaches, we are teacher/student - we impart knowledge from experience or what we have learnt from training. But we also learn from the experience of teaching others.
What sets a trainer apart from a coach? (thats a topic all by itself) - but my view is that a coach should have done and MUST have the skills to guide their students (who are more like apprentices) through the minefield that only experience can teach.
But how do we gain the important life skills that make technically good coaches fantastic guides? The power to persuade through effective communication, the ability to model good practice and resonate inner calm (where do we even find inner calm from!)
What tips/techniques have you found to improve yourself as a person who is a coach?
